The context
Belgium Biathlon operated in a growing international environment, with a need to structure and professionalise communication around its national team, athletes and partners. The aim was to strengthen digital communication, media relationships and the federation's visibility around competitions.
My role
Structure and professionalise Belgium Biathlon's communication, from strategy to content production, while supporting the national team's day-to-day communication and international competitions.
What I delivered
Develop regular, responsive digital communication: content and live updates from competitions, photography and video shoots, writing and distributing press releases, working with journalists and showcasing partners.
Create and manage new community spaces, including the Belgium Biathlon Fans group, to bring the national team closer to its supporters. Support athletes through media training and develop a complete communication plan defining the strategy, messages, audiences, channels and medium-term actions.
The outcome
More structured and visible communication, accompanied by a significant increase in press mentions and stronger exposure for the national team.
The Belgium Biathlon Fans group, designed as a space for supporters to exchange directly, also brought together an engaged community of more than 1,300 members around the team.
The communication plan gave Belgium Biathlon a clear roadmap for its medium-term development.
