The context
Eurosport covers biathlon for viewers already familiar with the discipline, its athletes and its stakes. Commentary therefore needs to go beyond describing the race to provide technical, tactical and sporting insights.
Media
Biathlon consultant, Eurosport France
My role
Bring the expertise of a former elite athlete to the journalist's commentary, adding a technical and tactical reading of the competition.
What I delivered
Live commentary alongside a journalist, analysing tactics, race management, shooting, equipment and competition conditions. Put performances into perspective through my knowledge of the international circuit and its athletes.
The outcome
Commentary enriched by practical expertise, giving knowledgeable viewers analytical insights that are difficult to pick up from pictures alone and a better understanding of what can change a performance.
